Oral & IV sedation
Oral sedation dentistry allows appropriately trained dentists to create a safe and comfortable dental experience for patients who have avoided the dentist out of fear or who might have time restrictions.
Dr. Kvitko has been trained to implement sedation effectively helping a patient become as comfortable and relaxed as possible using well established and proven protocols with a variety of sedation medications administered orally and sublingually (under the tongue). These protocols can be customized for the patient’s individual emotional and physical needs.
Sometimes referred to as 'relaxation', 'sleep' or 'anxiety free' dentistry, this comfortable care is offered at Dr. Kvitko & Associates.
Conscious sedation is a combination of medicines to help you relax (a sedative) and to block pain (an anesthetic) during a medical or dental procedure.
A needle will be carefully placed in a vein in your forearm or back of the hand. Various medications will be administered making you very relaxed, non-apprehensive, and sleepy. You will not be unconscious. Local anesthetics will also be used to control discomfort.
