Post Operative Instructions

Post Operative Instructions

Sometimes the after-effects of oral surgery are quite minimal, so not all of the following instructions may apply.

To maximize the whitening and reduce shade relapse, we ask that you do not consume dark liquids or foods (i.e. coffee, tea, dark soft drinks, or red wine), as well as refraining from wearing colored lipsticks.

Now that we've placed your permanent crown, it's important to follow these recommendations to ensure its success.

It takes time to become acclimated to new dentures. Think of it like a prosthetic leg. Do you think you can just throw the new leg and walk, hop, and skip? The same goes for your new dentures.

Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket in the bone. If a tooth has been broken or damaged by decay, your dentist will try to fix it with a filling, crown or other treatment.

To keep your mouth comfortable after having a filling, and to ensure that your filling sets properly, follow these tips.

A dental implant (also known as an endosseous implant or fixture) is a surgical component that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, or denture.

You are responsible for keeping the braces on your teeth!

You have some soft tissue removed from around your teeth. In order to keep your mouth comfortable, the areas operated were covered with a surgical dressing which is to remain for several days.

A temporary filling or crown is placed to protect the tooth between appointments, but you should take the following precautions to protect your teeth and ease any discomfort.

Please read and follow these procedures.  They will make you more comfortable and prevent any possible complications.
