Everyone's teeth have a protective layer called the acquired pellicle. This layer contains the surface dental stains and is removed during a regular dental cleaning or the whitening process. It takes 12 to 24 hours for the barrier to fully develop again. To maximize the whitening and reduce shade relapse, we ask that you do not consume dark liquids or foods (i.e. coffee, tea, dark soft drinks, or red wine), as well as refraining from wearing colored lipsticks. In addition, we recommend that you avoid any "yellow" foods such as white wine and potato chips.
To avoid any unnecessary post-procedure sensitivity, please take whatever medication you would normally use for a headache.
Smoking is not permitted for the first 24 hours . Smoking will have a negative impact on the improved shade of the newly whitened teeth.
Please begin your home maintenance with the BriteSmile toothpaste today. You must brush twice a day with the BriteSmile toothpaste to maximize the life span of your whitening treatment. Remember you must not use toothpastes or gels with color for the first 24 hours. In addition, do not use any mouthwash or home fluoride treatments with color. If your daily home care involves the use of Peridex, please wait 24 hours before resuming use of this product.

Main Entrée Suggestions : Turkey, White Tuna (no vinegar), White Fish, Canned Chicken Breast, Chicken Breast without skin, Grilled Cheese with White Cheddar or Mozzarella Cheese, Pasta with White Sauce such as Alfredo
Side Dish Suggestions : Plain Pasta Noodles, White Rice, Mashed or Baked Potato without peel
Beverage Suggestions: Milk, Water, Clear Soda, Tonic
For Caffeine: Storm Soda and Aqua Java have caffeine for those who require it
Alcohol: Zima, Vodka, Gin
Fruits and Vegetables: Apples and Pears without peel, Cauliflower
Snacks : Cottage Cheese, Plain or Vanilla Yogurt, White Cheese such as White Cheddar or Mozzarella
